Dine Sky High at Zafferano

At 240 metres above the ground and at the top floor of Ocean Financial Centre in the bustling business district of Collyer Quay and stone throw away from Raffles MRT Station.

These are the views before sunset.

Zafferano with Italian cuisine and enjoying the panoramic 270 degree view of our island skyline.

Contemporary, stylish and warm interior with two open kitchens, a charcoal grill, antipasti bar with a walk-in-wine cellar showcasing variety of Italian labels.

Early bird dinner special for 2 course at S$58++ and 3 course at S$68++. The last order for this special at 7.15 pm.

We decided to try all the menu from this dinner special.

For a start, we ordered Sandy Beach Mocktail priced at S$12++. A mixture of citrus fruits including fresh pineapple juice.

Italian crusty warm bread was served as starter for the evening with Zafferano’s very own blend of top quality Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Antipasti (before the meal) and the first course traditional formal Italian meal was the king prawn with beetroot salad, green apples and rhubarb vinaigrette was delicious. Fresh grilled prawn which was crunchy and sweet.

The tradition Tagliolini pasta with scallop and asparagus sautéed in lobster reduction. Fresh crunchy seared scallops with tomato based sauce added flavour to this dish.

Second piatti we were served with a pan seared turbot and squid with grapefruit and shellfish reduction. The turbot fish was thick and fresh. Topped with deep fried squid rings. The delicate fish which was succulent and smooth. Perfectly cooked makes this fish juicy and tender.

Next was the trio of Iberico suckling pig, crispy belly, braised shoulder and rib roast. Served with cream of beetroot and sweet garlic potatoes. Every sliced piece of the tender meat just simply melted in our mouth.

At the terrace wing for drinks and desserts as we watched and admired the glittering Marina Bay Sands skyline views and its surrounding areas.

The Dolci comes with a selection of sorbets. This simple dessert was impressive as the sorbet was uber-fresh. Home made fresh fruit two flavoured sorbets served with fresh berries.

Flambe special chocolate cake none other than the classic chocolate molten lava cake served with vanilla cream , fresh raspberries, flambé with amaretto

Zafferano opens late into the night upto 3 am on weekends. Their resident DJ is on hand to transform the dinning experience into a late night lounge as we enjoyed the glittering Marina Bay Sands skyline.

Literally we felt like we are on top of the world.

Thumbs Up to Ms. Rainbow who has been attending to us the whole night.
